TOWN PASSES AUDIT

The Town of Kill Devil Hills got a clean bill of financial health in its 1995-96 audit, an independent accounting firm said Tuesday night at a meeting of the municipality's board of commissioners.

The report, completed by the local accounting firm of Hutchins Allen and Co., revealed that the town is in good financial shape. The town's finances also were found to be in compliance with accepted governmental accounting practices.

Also, Finance Officer Teresa Pickerel received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 1994-95 fiscal year.

Awarded to the town's finance and taxation department, the honor is given by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for excellence in governmental accounting. by CNB
