Mildred Harris Parker, 87, of the 100 block of Cypress Road, died Oct. 29, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.
A native Portsmouth, she was the widow of Wilbur B. Parker. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Wilbur A. and his wife, Shirley C. Parker of Edenton, N.C., a daughter, Joyce P. and her husband, Jimmie L. Roberts Sr. of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Gary and wife, Susan Parker of Neshanic, N.J., Virginia and husband, Keith Brechtelsbauer of Wichita Falls, Texas, Carey Parker of Roanoke, Va.; two step-grandchildren, Jimmie and wife, Debra Roberts, and Denise and husband Randy Rhoad; a great-grandchild, Carmeron Parker, eight stepgreat-grandchildren, Jessica and Richard Lojewski, Erick and Ian Brechtelsbauer, Heather and Christopher Roberts, Nathaniel and Meredith Rhoad; a niece, Mildred and husband, Marvin Johnson; and many appreciated longtime caring neighbors.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Potter presiding. Memorial donations may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 209 Felton Road, Portsmouth, Va. 23701. Following the graveside service, family and friends will be recieved at Mrs. Parker's home, 102 Cypress Road. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd., is in charge.
