Rudolph Parker Ferrell Sr., 55, of the 1000 block of Blackwater Road died Nov. 1, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Ferrell was born in old Norfolk County and was the son of Annie Old Ferrell of Chesapeake and the late Elton Samuel Ferrell. Mr. Ferrell worked in the construction business and was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church and the Portsmouth Moose Lodge.
Other survivors include his wife, Barbara Brown Ferrell; his three sons and their wives, Rudolph Parker Ferrell Jr. and Latena and Elton Mickey Ferrell and Denise, all of Chesapeake, and George Allen Ferrell and Kelly of Richmond Hill, Ga.; and his sister, Delores Ann Pierce of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Good Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Michael Copeland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will begin Sunday and friends may join the family from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge.
