Carlyle ``Pappy'' Miller Bowden Jr., 74, of the 5300 block of Julianna Drive, passed away Oct. 29, 1996, in VA Hospital, Richmond.
He was born in Newbern, N.C. He was a retired PN 1 from the Navy, a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 21 Norfolk and the V.F.W.
Mr. Bowden was preceded in death by a son, Carlyle M. Bowden III, and his parents, Carlyle M. and Ethel Brinson Bowden. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris M. Bowden; three sons, Mark S. Bowden, David G. Bowden and Lance ``Beaver'' Bowden, all of Norfolk; two daughters, Carla M. Stockslager of Hagerstown, Md., and Roxanne D. Parlett of Norfolk; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 21 Hall, 1018 Little Creek Road, Norfolk. Mr. Philip Egert will be officiating. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
