I am sorry a little boy was brutally attacked by a dog (Oct. 25, MetroNews). It is always a tragedy when someone is needlessly injured. I do, however, have a problem with the portrayal of the Rottweiler.
As a Rottweiler owner I can tell you they are not vicious. Our dog is an obedient, loving member of our family. She is good with children and is tolerant of their sometimes overzealous play.
The statement, ``He was hungry,'' is ridiculous. Many of our friends own dogs that belong to breeds catagorized as vicious or mean by the media and others. Dogs that are loved, trained and well cared for will not cause these problems. In truth the problem is with the owners, not the dog or the breed.
