CAREER TRACK

ARCHITECTURE

Elizabeth Songer, Richman Jackson and Michael D. Willette were named architect interns at Hanbury Evans Newill Vlattas & Co. in Norfolk. Prior to this, Songer was assistant vice president of planning for Texas Medical Center. Jackson is a recent graduate of Hampton University and Willette is a recent graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, Vt.

Carl W. Rogers Jr. was named a staff architect with Paul Finch & Associates in Virginia Beach. He was previously with The Design Collaborative in Virginia Beach.

Lamonte M. Woodard was named a construction estimator for The TAF Group in Virginia Beach. He was formerly an architect with I.V. Harris and Associates Inc. Also, Terry W. Branch was named a land surveyor with The TAF Group. He was a self-employed surveyor.

ADVERTISING

Kari Breedlove was named broadcast media supervisor and Melissa Langknecht was named office manager at Ad-Ventures Advertising in Virginia Beach. Breedlove was most recently a media buyer for Primm & Co. in Norfolk. Langknecht was previously a customer service representative for Virginia Power.

CONSTRUCTION

Margaret L. Davis was promoted to vice president of W.B. Meredith II Inc. She joined the company in 1974 as executive secretary.

Also, Philip G. Shepard II was named senior project manager with W.B. Meredith. He has worked in the construction industry for over 13 years.

George A. Fuller was appointed project manager for Hourigan Martone Construction Corp. in Virginia Beach. He was previously project manager for Virtexco Corp. in Norfolk.

ENGINEERING

Michael J. Baust was named a civil engineer with Rickmond Engineering Inc. in Williamsburg. He was previously an engineer technician for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.

Guy Jeffrey Hall was named technical services director at MSA (Miller-Stephenson & Associates) in Virginia Beach. He will serve the company's clients in the areas of environmental site assessments, site characterization and remediation of hazardous waste. He was was the former president of a local environmental laboratory.

HEALTH CARE

Sentara Health System appointed Les A. Donahue, Williamsburg Community Hospital's chief executive officer, as a Sentara vice president to lead Sentara's efforts to improve the delivery of health care on the Peninsula. In addition to remaining chief executive officer at Williamsburg Community, he will assume additional responsibilities for Sentara Hampton General Hospital and Sentara Careplex, an outpatient surgery center in Hampton.

Dr. Arthur Dworetz, Dr. June A. Kim, Dr. Randall L. Plant and Dr. Polly C. Vaughan were named faculty physicians at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dworetz is an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences; Kim is assistant professor of radiation oncology; Plant is assistant professor of otolaryngology - head and neck surgery; and Vaughan is assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Bryan L. Weddle and Dr. John P. Barone have opened Family Chiropractic, Woods Corner in Virginia Beach. Weddle has been in the health care field since 1992 and received his doctorate of chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. Barone has been in the health care field since 1990 and was formerly an athletic trainer. He also received his doctorate of chiropractic from Parker College. Additionally, the two have also opened the Rehab Center at Woods Corner, a full service state-of-the-art musculoskeletal rehabilitation center for work-related injuries.

MANUFACTURING

William R. Dyer was appointed director of government employment programs for Smithfield Foods and its subsidiaries. He was formerly the government incentive program coordinator for Gwaltney, a subsidiary of Smithfield.

ORGANIZATIONS

Dr. T. Wayne Mostiler was elected president of the Tidewater Dental Association for the 1996-97 year. Mostiler is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has practices in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

The Virginia Marine Science Museum Foundation elected Jane M. Purrington as president. Edward B. Snyder of Checkered Flag Motor Co., was named first vice president and Thomas R. Frantz of Clark & Stant, was elected second vice president.

STOCK BROKERAGE

Timothy L. Harrison, a financial consultant with Wheat First Butcher Singer in Virginia Beach, was recognized by his clients as the firm's top provider of client service. His ranking was based on a firmwide survey in which all clients were asked to rate their financial consultants on the quality of their investment advice and client service. He placed first in service and ninth in investment advice.

REAL ESTATE

Anthony W. Smith, president of Robinson Sigma Commercial Real Estate, was elected regional vice president for the Institute of Real Estate Management. He will oversee the activities of the association's chapters in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. He will also serve as the liaison between the association's local chapters and its headquarters in Chicago.

Lisa Lind was named senior marketing representative for Robinson Sigma. She most recently worked with Red Creek Ranch in Colorado, marketing a large residential/recreational subdivision.

Also, Louis W. Liakos was named senior property manager at Robinson Sigma. Before this, he was a project manager with the A.M.A. Group in Saudi Arabia.
