Lucille Lawson, 76, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died Nov. 1, 1996, in DePaul Medical Center.
She was born in Norfolk and was a member of Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Norfolk, its Missionary Circle and Floral Club. She retired eight years ago as a housekeeper after more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanch Lawson and father, Willie Lawson.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Virginia Briggs of Richmond; two brothers, Thomas E. Lawson and James Lawson, both of Norfolk; a devoted sister-in-law, Nellie W. Lawson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ Disciples of Christ by Bishop C.N. White Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at 7432 Pomona St., where they will also assemble at noon Wednesday for the procession to the church. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
