James L. Bryant died Nov. 2, 1996, in his residence. He was in his 91st year of age.
A retired marketing manager, Mr. Bryant was born in Woburn, Mass. He attended M.I.T. in Cambridge, Mass., and was in textiles until he retired in 1977 and moved to Virginia Beach. He was with Auto Trader until 1989. He was a Mason, Knight of Templar and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife of almost 67 years, Mildred ``Pat'' Bryant; two daughters, Barbara Ann and her husband Stanley Rubenstein of Cutchogue, N.Y., Patricia Lee and her husband Jack Ailstock of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Sharen Boehm, Jordan Rubenstein, Kim White, Dean Ailstock, Jamie Rubenstein, Pamela Shelton and Courtney Rubenstein; and seven great-grandchildren, Leah, Tiffany, Derek, Jarred, Caleigh, Sam and Ashlee. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Bryant.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Emmanuel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Julia Dorsey Loomis. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will be in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
