I would like to know what good reason there is to mention, in the Oct. 22 ``Athletes of the Week,'' that Elaine McCall has ``blonde'' hair? Does this somehow make her a better tennis player? A more worthy news subject? Would you not run the story if she had black dreadlocks?
This type of sexist reporting has no place in a newspaper. You didn't mention the color of Kavonzo Beamon's hair. Wasn't it interesting enough?
Report the facts that are needed, not personal descriptions that have nothing to do with the story being told.
