Vincent Nolasco Powell, 83, formerly of Sea Wolf Drive, departed this life and began his journey home on Sunday, Nov. 3, 1996. He died in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Beacon, N.Y., he was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Madeline P. Powell, and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mr. Powell retired from the U.S. Navy with 28 years of service and was a veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor. Also he retired from the Virginia Employment Commission.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Blue and her husband, Bill; and grandchildren, Christy, Billy and Courtney Blue.
A funeral will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father William Dale and Father Edward L. Richardson. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 360 Southport Circle, Suite 104, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452, or to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements.
