BOOKER T. PARKER

Booker T. Parker, 66, of the 100 block of Bailey Circle, died Nov. 3, 1996, in Obici Hospital.

He was a native of Lewiston, N.C., and son of the late John T. and Mrs. Mary Parker Joe and the husband of Mrs. Mattie M. Parker. He was a member of Tabernacle UCC Church, its C.R. Upton usher board and senior usher board. Mr. Parker was a coordinator for Planters for 46 years and chief steward at Local (NU)26 Union Hall.

Besides his wife, surviving are four daughters, Mary L. Cross, Barbara Peterson and Beverly Jackson of Suffolk, Dorothy Watkins of Chesapeake; five sons, Colangelo D. Parker of Dale City, Va., Tyrone Parker, Dennis S. Parker of Suffolk, Larry D. Parker of Hinesville, Ga., Terry A. Parker of Fairfield, Ohio; four sisters, Mamie Corney of New York City, Hattie Boone, Mary Davis and Fannie Shepard of Suffolk; three brothers, Ulysee Parker of New Jersey, Earldine Parker of Suffolk, Robert Carter of Windsor, N.C.; 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; aunt, Bessie Powell of Suffolk; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Tabernacle UCC Church by the Rev. Carlton R. Upton Sr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The body will be taken from Peebles Funeral Home to the church at 11 a.m.
