Police on Monday identified the teen-age boy suspected of a weekend murder as Theodore ``Theo'' Adams.
Police spokesman Larry Hill said investigators had secured papers charging the 17-year-old boy with the slaying of Viron Bryant, 21, but had not yet found the suspect.
The shooting happened Friday in the 300 block of W. 28th St. Bryant, of the 2900 block of Hollister Ave., died at a hospital.
Adams is wanted on charges of murder and using a gun in a crime.
Police were granted a court order Monday to publicly identify the juvenile suspect in hopes that someone would turn him in.
Adams, whose last known address was in the 800 block of W. 38th St., is black, 5 feet 7 and 150 pounds. He has been photographed with short hair, but police think his hair is now braided in corn rows.
Police said he often visits the Park Place and Ocean View sections of Norfolk and should be considered armed and dangerous.
