SAVE THE TREE

About the Nov. 3 MetroNews story, ``300-year-old willow oak tree is threatening house, has to go'':

Here, again, America shows its throwaway mentality. In Europe every measure would have been taken to save an old tree like that. The house should have been demolished and rebuilt elsewhere by the city, since the city issued the building permit.

I think it would have been a small price to pay for a tree that has been around since before America was born the way we know it today.
