Alphonzo ``Smitty'' Smith, 73, died Nov. 8, 1996 at 1401 Halstead Ave.
He was born in Princess Anne County, son of the late Viola and James Smith. He was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include five sisters, Norma J. Drew and Bertha Ferebee, both of Virginia Beach, Martha E. Young and Vivian V. Person, both of Norfolk and Florence Allen of Baltimore; a brother, Lee W. Smith of Franklin, Va.; a sister-in-law, Berdia M. Smith; four brothers-in-law, Henry B. Person, James S. Allen, Levi Drew Jr., Willie L. Ferebee; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Second Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.V. Guns. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will be at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
