These events are planned for today in observance of Veterans Day:

Chesapeake: Veterans display at the Chesapeake Central Library,

298 Cedar Road, through Saturday, Nov. 16.

Virginia Beach: Parade, begins at 9:30 a.m. at Atlantic Avenue

and 16th Street; route follows Atlantic Avenue to 19th Street, then

turns toward Tidewater Veterans Memorial (across from the Pavilion),

where the parade will end with a memorial service. There is also a

luncheon at the Radisson Hotel on 19th Street. Parade is co-hosted

by the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations and Veterans

of Foreign Wars of Hampton Roads. For information on the parade or

luncheon, call 671-8497.

Norfolk: Ceremony hosted by Automobile Workers of America's

Veterans Committee, 2 p.m., inside Military Circle shopping center.

The committee will dedicate a 4- by 6-foot commemorative stone to be

permanently housed in the mall.

Hampton: Wreath-laying ceremony, 11 a.m., Spanish-American War

cemetery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Hampton.

Suffolk: Veterans Day ceremony, 11 a.m., entrance to Cedar Hill
