Ernest Linwood Cutchin Jr., 81, of South Quay Road entered eternal rest Nov. 10, 1996.
A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Ocie Butler Cutchin. Mr. Cutchin was a member of South Quay Baptist Church and the Bronco Rod and Gun Club and was a past member of Suffolk Moose Lodge (NU)141. He retired from Union Camp Corp. after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving 42 months in the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye W. Cutchin; a daughter, Yvonne Raiford of Suffolk; two sons, E.L. Cutchin III of Como, N.C., and Wayne Cutchin of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Margaret C. Butler of Franklin; four granddaughters, Jenny and Amy Campbell of Franklin, Erin Joyner of Courtland and Melody Pope of Rich Square, N.C.; and a great-granddaughter, Clarissa Campbell of Franklin. He was predeceased by a son, David Allen Cutchin.
At Mr. Cutchin's request, his body was cremated and no service will be held. Interment of the ashes in the family lot will be private at a later date. Wright Funeral Home is in charge.
