VISITING EVANGELIST COMING TO REGENT U. REINHARD BONNKE WILL PREACH AND TEACH WHILE HE IS IN THE HAMPTON ROADS AREA.

One of the world's best-known Christian evangelists will preach and teach in Hampton Roads from Nov. 17 through 22.

Reinhard Bonnke, known widely in Africa and Europe but less in the United States, will preach at two local churches and give lectures on ``Power Evangelism'' at Regent University. Bonnke founded Christ for All Nations, an international ministry, in 1974.

Free public services will be at New Life Christian Fellowship at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Great Bridge High School auditorium, 301 W. Hanbury Road. Bonnke will preach at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday at Parkway Temple, 601 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake.

Bonnke will lecture from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Nov. 18-22, in the Moot Court in Robertson Hall, Regent University. Each afternoon, Bonnke's staff will hold classroom discussion. Pastors and lay people can register for the instruction for $79, which includes required class textbooks.

Bonnke has been the most successful mass crusade evangelist in the world for the past 20 years, said Vinson Synan, Regent's dean of divinity. He is perhaps best known for his African crusades, which draw hundreds of thousands of people. His crusades are characterized by evangelistic appeals with thousands of converts, as well as healings and other ``signs and wonders,'' according to Regent University.
