COLUMBUS L. WHITE

Columbus Lee White, of the 800 block of W. 35th St., died Dec. 29, 1996, in DePaul Hospital.

Born in Nansemond County, he was a warehouseman for the Naval Base and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, and a member of the Male Usher Board (NU)2.

Survivors include his wife, Madeline H. White; seven daughters, Louise Brown of Rich, Calif., Juanita Tally of Philadelphia, Dorothy Davis, Madeline Hillard, Lillian Davis, Francine Claiborne, Tiny Myers, all of Norfolk; a son, USAF Master Sgt. Clarence M. Davis III of Oxon, Md.; two sisters, Mabel W. Fields and Beatrice W. Baucham, both of Norfolk; 26 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and a special grandson, Leon F. Davis.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday by Dr. Johnnie L. White in First Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. The remains will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is in charge.
