William R. Foreman, 79, of the 900 block of Oklahoma Drive, died Dec. 30, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Foreman was born in Beaufort County, N.C., and was the widower of Clara I. Foreman. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a ship hull inspector.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah E. Foreman of Chesapeake, Denise C. Clere and husband, Steve, of Silver Springs, Fla.; a son, Leroy S. Foreman of Chesapeake; two sisters, Hilda Napier of Plymouth, N.C., and Mary Gross of Columbus, Neb.; a brother, Sam A. Foreman of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two grandchildren, Karen F. Stanaland of Raleigh, N.C., and Wayne D. Stanaland III; six nieces and eight nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, by the Rev. E. Clifton Whitlock. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and Thursday.
