LEONE H. POWELL

Leone Hingerty Powell, 94, of the 200 block of W. Constance Road, died Dec. 31, 1996, in Hillhaven Nursing Center.

Born in Nansemond County, she was the widow of William Sylvester Powell and a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, Ladies Star Class, Staley Missionary Circle and the Bethlehem Fellowship Club. A homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Delaney and Ada Virginia Pruden Hingerty.

Survivors include sons, William H. and Jean Powell, Raymond L. Sr. and Dot Powell of Suffolk; grandchildren, Brenda P. Weston of Chesterfield, Va., Pamela P. Culbertson of Suffolk, Larry S. Powell of Mechanicsville, Va., Raymond L. Powell Jr. of Chesapeake, David B. Powell of Chesterfield.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. David Wilson. Friends may join the family in Hill Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday and other times in the residence.
