Carl Robert Baber, 71, of the 7000 block of Kirby Crescent, died Dec. 31, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Burnwell, W.Va., he was a retired pipefitter at NOB. He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norfolk and Norview Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a brother, Paul B. Baber of Virginia Beach; a sister, Avis L. Gregory of Fredricksburg, Va.; a niece, Janet C. Yen of Suffolk; several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
