Allen Joseph Arculin, 81, of the 200 block of Hodges Manor Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Tamaqua, Pa., he was the widower of Anna Louise Arculin and retired after 33 years of service with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter. He then worked for Metro Machine Co. for 13 years. A 1938 graduate of Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School, he was a member of Moose Lodge (NU)898 and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet A. Randall of Portsmouth, Patricia K. Arculin of Norfolk; a son, Richard A. Arculin of Winchester, Va.; three sisters, Florence Kaye, Isabel Arculin, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., Gertie Harvan of Tamaqua; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. J. Robert Bennett. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
