Buena Hines Baum, 88, of the 3800 block of Elijah Baum Road, died Dec. 31, 1996, in an area nursing home. Mrs. Baum was born in Kitty Hawk and was a homemaker and a member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Bannister J. and Elizabeth Perry Hines and the wife of the late C. Wyatt Baum Sr.
Surviving are a son, Clavis Wyatt Baum Jr. of Southern Shores; two sisters, Robana H. Wise and Ruth Midgett, both of Kitty Hawk; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church or to a charity of ones choice.
