Shirley Ann Aikens, 58, of the 700 block of West 37th St., died Dec. 30, 1996, in Hillhaven Nursing Home.
She was a native of Baltimore and was a lab technician with Norfolk Dental Lab. She was a member of C.H. Mason Memorial C.O.G.I.C. and the daughter of Beatrice Sutton Williams and the late Joseph L. Williams. She was the widow of William Aikens.
She is survived by a son, Larry R. Aikens of Norfolk; her mother, Beatrice Sutton Williams; six sisters, Wilsonia J. Whitfield, Leatrice Reed, Patricia L. Whitmore, Marie Lee, Brenda Sanderlin and Mary Slade, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Charles A. Williams and Gary T. Williams; a goddaughter, Nicole Allen; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at C.H. Mason Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Riddick Funeral Service where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.
