Mildred Padgett Clark, 78, passed away Jan. 1, 1997. She was born April 30, 1918, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Marvin A. Padgett and Pearl Creasy Padgett.
She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of the Women of the Moose; the Virginia Government Employees Association and the Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Basil A. Padgett and James A. Padgett, both of Bedford; a sister, Audrey Padgett Wright of Virginia Beach.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Wayne Murphy. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. today and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Updike Funeral Home.
