Texie Anna Whitehead Holland, 74, of Lafayette Villa and formerly of Franklin, died Dec. 30, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Southampton County, she was a member of St. Luke AMEZ, and its usher and hospitality committee. A retired plant worker for Planters Peanut, she was the daughter of the late Daisy and Emmett Whitehead.
Survivors include her husband, Chasper Lee Holland; a daughter, Leatrice Brown of Norfolk; a son, Curtis Green of Richmond; two sisters, Laura Mae Whitehead Wiggins of Woodly, N.C., Pearl Whitehead Copper of Norfolk; a devoted granddaughter, Teresina Holland of Norfolk; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Luke AMEZ by Dr. Marcus Pierce. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in Applewhite Funeral Home and also from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Trinity Out-Reach, Franklin, Va. The family will assemble for service at 1 p.m. Sunday.
