We are writing regarding Chesapeake City Council voting to approve the Warrington Hall project related to Butts Station and Kempsville roads.
We have lived on Butts Station Road for more than 33 years, and we support the action of the City Council. This project has been carefully studied by our city staff and ity Council, and we trust their evaluation and decision in this matter.
We, too, would like to live in an area where there is less traffic, people, etc., but we reside in the city of Chesapeake, and to be progressive the city must expand to meet the needs of its citizens and bring in new industries and better jobs.
If you sign the petition now being circulated about the Warrington Hall proposal, you have to understand the full context of this issue. Some people would have you and me believe we can force our local government to take property rights away from others and it will not hurt our property rights.
We should remember, in America we all have rights and responsibilities, and we need to make sure when we sign a petition we are not depriving another person of his rights in the event that someday we are confronted with the same situation.
