Joseph Richard Costanzo, 71, died Jan. 1, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Bridgeport, Conn., he retired as a lead man for General Electric in 1987 after 25 years of service. He was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Andrea Costanzo of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Sara Skehan and Lisa O'Neill, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Pauline Grisell of Easton, Conn., and Suzanne Boyko of Riverview, Fla.; three brothers, Dominick Costanzo of El Paso, Texas, Louis Costanzo of Huntington, Conn., Nicholas Costanzo of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Joseph, Robert and Michael Skehan and Meghan O'Neill, all of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milford, Conn. The body will be sent from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, to the Louis Abriola Funeral Home, 426 East Washington Ave., Bridgeport, Conn., for services and burial.
