Dr. W. Russell Gibson, 64, recently of Virginia Beach, died peacefully at his home in Schuyler, Va., Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997.
Born in London, England, Russell placed the happiness and well being of his family above all else. He was a dear husband to June Elisabeth, loving father to Jane, Jackie, Kate and Ian, devoted brother to Mary and Nevill and special Grandpa to eight grandchildren.
He was a longstanding and dedicated member of the Julius J. Snyder Anesthesiology Group of Norfolk, Va. He also practiced medicine in England, Australia and Canada. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Hampton Blvd., Norfolk, by the Rev. Ross Wright.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1290 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, Va. 22901 or to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 785 Market St., Suite 1600, San Francisco, Calif. 94103. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
