Elizbeth E. Bright Batts, 75, of the 6400 block of Dove St. died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Norfolk Community Hospital.
A native of Rose Hill, N.C., and the daughter of Jimmie and Hattie Highsmith Bright, Mrs. Batts, was the widow of Ezell Batts. She was a member of Macedonia United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Hattie Baker and her husband, Andrew T. Baker; a son, Carter E. Batts and his wife, Jackie C. Batts; two brothers-in-law, the Rev. Abner Batts and Edward J. Mitchel.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Manholland Baptist Church, Edgecomb, N.C., by the Rev. T.L. Duren. Burial will be in Edgecomb Community Cemetery. Riddick Funeral Service is in charge. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday.
