Dorothy Willis Boothe, of the 6400 block of Crescent Way, died in a local hospital Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996.
Mrs. Boothe was born in Norfolk and grew up in Suffolk. She was the widow of the late Shirley D. Boothe.
She was a member of the Suffolk chapter of Pinochle Bugs Inc., the Birthday Group, the La Vogue Club, the Melders Club, the Bridge Bugs, the Norfolk State University Senior Center, the Episcopal Church Women, Jordan Neighborhood Corp. and the St. Monica's Guild of Grace Episcopal Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne B. Wrenn of Virginia Beach and Francine Boothe of Randallstown, Md.; two grandsons, Jason Wrenn of Sterling, Va., and Louis Wrenn of Atlanta. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mabel Williams and Gertie Williams of Petersburg; a brother-in-law, Collett Booth of Baltimore; and three cousins, Dorothy Williams of Suffolk and Virginia Woods and Bernice Jonnson of Virginia Beach. Dorothy also leaves many friends to cherish her memory.
A memorial service by the Suffolk Chapter Pinochle Bugs will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. in Hale Funeral Home, Norfolk. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Grace Episcopal Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk. The remains will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Monday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
