Carolyn Marie Baker, 51, of the 900 block of State Street, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Wilson, N.C., Mrs. Baker was predeceased by her father, Harvey Earl Gardner. Survivors include her mother, Lena M. Howard of Chesapeake; husband, Willie J. Baker Sr.; three sons, Robert D. Lee and Henry E. Lee, both of Chesapeake, and Joseph B. Lee of Suffolk; five sisters, Betty J. Bailey of Clayton, N.C., Frances Snelgrove of Suffolk, Sherry J. Raynor, Deborah K. Arnold and Rebecca L. Clark, all of Chesapeake; four brothers, Norwood E. Gardner of Chesapeake, Charles D. Gardner of Raleigh, N.C., Teddy W. Gardner of Newport News and Danny R. Gardner of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Albert R. Lee, Robyn L. Lee, Joseph B. Lee Jr. and Meagon R. Lee. She was predeceased by a son, Acey R. Lee III.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Robert E. Hall. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
