ROSA L. EVANS

Rosa Lee Evans, 83, of the 700 block of Madison St. died Jan. 3, 1997, in her home.

A native of Clark County, Miss., she was the widow of Wesley C. Evans and a former member of St. James Episcopal Church, Portsmouth. She was also a member of Effingham Plaza Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Lee Sivills, Dorothy Pearson and Marilyn Johnakin, all of Portsmouth; three sons, William A. Evans and Vernon Evans, both of Portsmouth, and James E. Evans of Wooster, Ohio; 68 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Rudolph Lewis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon Tuesday. The family will be there from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The family will be at 1705 Barrow St., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral.
