Walter Lee Lacaze, 71, of the 4000 block of Wales Drive, died Jan. 5, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mr. Lacaze was retired from the Navy after more than 30 years of service. He also was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Open Door Chapel, where he was a former deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lacaze.
He is survived by two sons, Tony Lacaze and his wife, Robin, of Virginia Beach and Joseph Anzallo of Maryland; one daughter, Sheila Thomas of Chesapeake; his fiancee, Maria McMillen; two brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park with full military honors. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
