Hazel Nelms Andrews, 74, of the 1900 block of Chesapeake Ave., died Jan. 4, 1997, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Nash County, N.C., and was the widow of Robert Otto Andrews. She was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Ladies Auxiliary (NU)795 of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Chesapeake.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean A. Tatum and Shirley A. Edgerton of Rocky Mount and Carol W. Bailey of Chesapeake; two sons, Wayne Andrews of Rocky Mount and Michael Andrews of Chesapeake; a brother, Alexander Nelms of Nashville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by a daugther, Martha Farrell.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by Ken Littleton. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Following the service, the body will be sent to Johnson Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. A second service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Parkwood Baptist Church with burial following in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
