Katherine Holloway Nicosia, 72, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997.
A lifelong resident of Poquoson, she retired in 1988 after 25 years service with the First National Bank of Poquoson, now Central Fidelity Bank, as assistant branch manager.
She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, an avid gardener and ``farmer.'' She was also a member of the National Association of Women in Banking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Ernest Holloway.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Nicosia Sr. of Poquoson; two sons, Joseph Anthony Nicosia Jr. of Hampton and David Ernest Nicosia of Portsmouth; two daughters-in-law, Jean Merriel Nicosia of Poquoson and Mabel Lawrence Nicosia of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Leon Nicosia of Poquoson, Bonnie King of Richmond and Robin Boes of Virginia Beach; two great-grandchildren, Samantha King of Richmond and Bobby Boes of Virginia Beach.
A funeral was conducted Monday in Claytor Rollins Funeral Home by the Rev. Dick Helveston and the Rev. John Durkovich. Burial is in Parklawn Memorial Park.
