Reginald Carl Atkins, 69, of the 1700 block of May Craft Road, died Jan. 5, 1997, in his home.
Born in Roanoke, Va., he was an electronics specialist for the civil service and was also an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Atkins; two daughters, Regina Atkins, Nancy A. Wintemberg, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Ronald Atkins of Gates, N.C.; six sisters, Christine Stafford of Princeton, W. Va., Jackie Haynes of Rutherfordton, N.C., Norma Gay of Virginia Beach, Barbara Crawford of Riverside, Calif., Audrey Stubbs of Zuni, Va., Ann Camarillo of Chesapeake; and three grandsons.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Jess Jackson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Donations may be made to the Chesapeake Rescue Squad, Virginia Beach.
