Sylvester Thomas Helton, of the 500 block of W. 28th St., died Jan. 4, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Bluefield, W.Va., he was the widower of Lillian Helton. He was a retired roofer for American Roofing Co. Mr. Helton was a Baptist.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mildred Corprew and Delois Brickhouse, both of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Chapel by Bishop Anthony Moses. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. today. The family will assemble at the chapel at 11:45 a.m. Committal and burial services will be private.
