Lewis Edward Sears, 77, died Jan. 4, 1997.
A native of Emporia, Va., he retired in 1981 as a technical illustrator for Westinghouse Electric Corporation with 30 years service. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Umphlett Sears of Ellicott City, Md., and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Umphlett Funeral Home, Newport News, by the Rev. Louis Clelland. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. Thursday. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
