Virginia Beach police said Monday they teamed with Chesapeake police and the FBI to arrest a bank-robbery suspect after a phone tip pointed them to a North Carolina man.
Investigators traveled to Wilmington, N.C., Friday and arrested 21-year-old John E. Finocchiaro. Police said the suspect is being held in the Chesapeake jail without bail.
Chesapeake detectives have charged Finocchiaro with robbing two banks in that city, Chesapeake police spokeswoman Elizabeth Jones said.
Virginia Beach detectives charged the suspect with the robbery of the Life Savings Bank at 3801 Pacific Ave. Nov. 25.
