Mary Davis Exum, 57, of the 3100 block of Camelot Blvd. died Jan. 5, 1997, in Leigh Memorial Hospital.
A teacher for Norfolk City Schools, she retired 15 years ago after 20 years of service. She was a native of Williamston, N.C., and a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was a Bible school teacher and church treasurer. She was a member of Mount Herman Chapter No. 19 Order of the Eastern Star, Peach Blossom Lodge.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Wade Exum; two daughters, Edwina Yvette Copeland and Maria Denise Mullen, both of Chesapeake; sister, Shirley M. Brown of Norfolk; grandchildren, Brena Exum, Jamika Mullen, Derrell Copeland and LaShae Mullen, all of Chesapeake; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Sophie G. Davis and Leroy Davis.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Peter Wherry. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Portsmouth. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
