EDWARD C. HORIGAN

Edward Charles Horigan, 56, died Jan. 7, 1997, in his residence.

A master chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Horigan retired with 28 years of service. He was a native of Mattapan, Mass., and a member and board member of the American Cribbage Congress. He was also co-founder of the Tidewater 29'ers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Horigan; two daughters, Theresa Ann Davis and her husband, Robert Davis of Beverly, Mass.; son, Edward Charles Horigan Jr. and his wife, Melissa Horigan, of Norfolk; two sisters, Helen Horigan of Cambridge, Mass., and Jean Brown of Dedham, Mass.; three brothers, George T. Horigan Jr. of Brockton, Mass., Richard Horigan of Lexington, Mass., and James Horigan of Bradford, N.H.; two grandsons, Sean Edward Davis and Conor Robert Davis, both of Beverly, Mass.

A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by Mr. Bob Clark. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Providence Road Church of Christ, 921 Providence Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23325-4201.
