PHILLIP O. NEWBOLD

Phillip O. Newbold, 75, of the 4000 block of Starboard Road, died Jan. 8, 1997, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Born in Norfolk County, Va., he was the widower of Lillian Newbold and was a retired lead man for Weaver Fertilizer Co. He was a member of Rehoboth A.M.E. Church, Chesapeake.

Survivors include a daughter, Ardine Anderson of Chesapeake; a son, Henry Newbold of St. Paul, Minn.; three sisters, Marion Hill, Georgia Riddick, Cynthia Brabble, all of Chesapeake; two brothers, Johnnie Newbold, Andre Newbold, both of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Holy Light Church of Deliverance, Portsmouth, by Pastor S.L. Carruth. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
