Just when you think you have seen enough insensitivity and disrespect for other people, along comes another example of just how far we have fallen.
Recently I was part of a funeral processional that was going down Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach. Not only were people speeding by like they were in a hurry, several drivers risked the lives of the funeral participants, including myself, by swerving recklessly in front of us, just so they could be in a turning lane.
It seems respect for life (and even death) has been cheapened so much that a family cannot even mourn the death of a family member without people trying to run them over.
