Shirley Herring Cashwell, 64, of the 100 block of York Drive, died Jan. 8, 1997, in her residence.
A native of Farmville, N.C., she was retired from King's Castle Day Care.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Lee Cashwell Jr.; a daughter, Paula Adele Fay of Portsmouth; a son, Michael Lee Cashwell of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Eric Cashwell and Cheryl Leigh Fay.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tom Potter. Sturtevant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
