James Lee ``Jimmy'' Henderson, 92, of the 1600 block of Wapiti Ave., died Jan. 10, 1997, in a local hospital.
He retired as manager of W.F. Woolworth & Co. after 14 years service. He worked with Albany Naval Tailors for four years and was also head of Janitorial Maintenance Service for Lindman Association for 20 years. He was a graduate of Oak Ridge University and member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge (NU)266 AF&AM. Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Henderson; two daughters, Betty O'Reilly and her husband, Jerry of Great Falls, Mont., Phyllis Ponn and Bill of Manassas, Va.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; two step-daughters, Barbara Baines and her husband, Benjamin of Dinwiddie, Va., Linda Wells and her husband, Carl, of Petersburg, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity Baptist Church by Dr. John Mason and Dr. Walker N. Stockburger. Burial will be in Holly Lawn, Suffolk. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
