A Norfolk jury returned a not guilty verdict Friday afternoon for a 21-year-old man charged in the July shooting death of a man outside a nightclub.
Ricky Ricardo Wilson Jr. of the 900 block of Tunstall Ave. in Norfolk had been charged in the killing of Michael J. Maderazo, 33, of the 6400 block of Palem Road.
Maderazo was shot in the parking lot of Garry's Inn, a nightspot on Little Creek Road. Police said he was shot when he approached a man who was acting suspiciously around a parked van.
Police identified Wilson as a suspect, and he turned himself in at a local television station after a warrant was issued for his arrest. But he maintained his innocence.
