Calvin D. Schuler, 51, of the 1100 block of Pine Song Place died Jan. 9, 1997.
He was born in Artas, S.D., and retired from the U.S. Navy after 28 years of service as an E7. Mr. Schuler was an avid golfer, mountain biker, had a good sense of humor and dearly loved his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Emanuel Schuler.
Survivors include his mother, Alice Albertson Schuler of Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Sebastian Toris of Virginia Beach; sister, Dianne Thowe of Arizona; three brothers, Fred S. Schuler of Virginia Beach, Richard L. Schuler of Arizona and Gary M. Schuler of Idaho.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Harvest Assembly of God Church, 525 Kempsville Road, by Pastor Gary Jenkins. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge.
