MARJORIE A. LOUGHLIN

Marjorie Angela Loughlin, 88, of the 6400 block of Auburn Drive, died Jan. 10, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Loughlin was a native of Brockway, Pa., and a resident of Tidewater for 10 years. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Sara Apgar McGurn and was preceded in death by her husband, retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Charles Elliott Loughlin, the former president of The Naval Academy Foundation. She was an artist and was a member of the Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Loughlin was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Hammond Harwood House, Annapolis, Md.

Survivors include three daughters, Sara Gay Freed of Virginia Beach, Lynn L. Duvall of Yorktown and Edmee K. Ryan of Virginia Beach; a brother, Robert McGurn of Whitestone, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, William, Stacia and Rebecca Freed, and Deborah and Katharine Higgins.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date at the United States Naval Academy Cemetery, Annapolis, Md. Memorial contributions may be made to Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, will be handling the arrangements.
