CHARLES F. PARKER

Charles F. Parker, 81, of the 2800 block of Shore Drive died Jan. 10, 1997, in a local hospital.

A retired civil service employee with 36 years service, Mr. Parker worked at Norfolk Naval Air Station, Litchfield Park, Ariz., and the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. He was a native of South Norfolk and was a 29-year member of The Wesleymen of Epworth United Methodist Church. He was past master of Acacia Lodge No. 47 F&AM, Avondale, Ariz. and an acitve member of Scottish Rite and El Zaribah Temple, Phoenix.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannette E. Parker; four daughters, Nancy Parker and Phyllis Harris, both of Portsmouth, Dede K. Aswell of Dallas and Virginia E. Squieri and her husband, Tony, of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Hilda P. Spence of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late L.W.D. Parker and Delia Ansell Parker.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, by Judge Hal J. Bonney Jr. Masonic rites will be accorded at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital in care of Khedive Temple, Greenbrier, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, Va.
